Razz Pocker

Razz Pocker is a fairly new edition to many of the online poker rooms and it’s the same as seven card stud although the objective is to have the lowest hand. The game be played with 2-8 players at one table and is a heavily addicting game for poker fans. There are no straights or flushes in Razz the only goal you have is to have the lowest possible hand without any pairs. The best possible hand in Razz is A-2-3-4-5 as aces count as the lowest card in Razz.

In Razz every pocker player generally needs to place an ante into the pot so that there is always action from every player. A typical ante is 1/5 the size of the low limit bet size, so if you’re playing a $1/$2 game then the ante would generally be $.20 per player. Once everyone puts in there ante the dealer will deal every player three cards with two face down and one face up. The player with the highest face up card will be the first to act in the hand and has the choice of bringing in, raising or folding. If the player decides to bring in it is 50% of the low limit bet so it would be $.50 in a $1/$2 game. The action goes around the table until everyone is in the pot or folded.

From here the dealer will deal one more face up card to each player left in the pot and then there is another round of betting. The player with the lowest face up hand at this point starts the round of betting and will have the choice of betting or checking. Be aware of poker cheats while playing razz as most people generally have no idea what they are doing. In this round of betting you can only bet the low limit amount which would be $1 in a $1/$2 game. The most the pot can be raised per betting round is three times which makes it fairly inexpensive to play at these levels.

Once this round of pocker betting is down another card is dealt to every player face up and then another round of betting takes place with the high limit now being the minimum bet which is $2 in a $1/$2 game. After the round of betting another card is dealt to each player face up and followed by another round of betting. Players then receive the last card face down and finish the hand with one last round of betting.

For any FullTilt players left in the pot at this point in time it will be time to see who wins the hand. Remember the goal is to have the lowest hand in Razz and not the highest hand. The player who initiated the last bet will be first to show there hand. Each player after that can either show there hand if they have the other beat or muck there hand if they lost.

The game is simple to play and if you have played seven card stud in the past then you’ll definitely have no problem playing Razz. It’s a change from most poker games where the highest hand wins and for those of you who feel you only get low cards dealt to you maybe Razz will payoff for you.
